Protecting your smile while playing sports is essential. Mouth guards help protect your teeth and gums from injury. If you participate in any sport that can result in injury to the mouth area or a concussion a mouth guard is recommended.
Choosing the right mouth guard is essential. There are three basic types: premade, the “boil-and-bite”, and the custom-made mouth guard. When choosing a mouth guard, pick one that is durable, comfortable, and does not interfere with breathing properly. Premade and “boil-and-bites” can be purchased at most sporting goods stores, while custom made-mouth guards are especially designed by your dentist to provide optimal protection against mouth injuries. As your dentist which option is best for you.
Our goal is to help minimize the change of sport related injuries to your smile.
